Share Your Story Video Challenge

Grant Description

The annual Share Your Story video grant challenge mobilizes generosity to local nonprofits in the Greater Huntsville area, focusing on a new theme each year. Nonprofit organizations create a 60-second video showing their impact and sharing their story, then post their video to Facebook and submit a brief application in the Community Foundation’s online grant portal.

2026 THEME: Small Nonprofits Making an Outsized Impact

HOW IT WORKS:

Create a 60-second (or less) video showing your impact and sharing your story.

Submit your video through our online grants portal.

Post your video on your organization’s Facebook page and tag the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville.

GRANT CYCLE: 5/1/26 – 7/31/26

Get approved by the Community Foundation Grants Committee for inclusion in the 2026 Share Your Story Donor Catalog.

Donors are invited to co-invest in organization after watching your video.

Receive a grant after the donor catalog closes.

* Organizations must have an annual budget under $500,000 to qualify for the 2026 Share Your Story Grant.

2025 Grant Recipients

In 2025, Share Your Story focused on engaging families in
strategic generosity. Twelve of the submitted videos were selected to be a part
of the Community Foundation’s Family Philanthropy Initiative that included a toolkit to help families engage in an interactive experience of watching videos together, having conversations, and selecting nonprofits to support.

A total of $118,050 was granted out.
