Huntsville to Decatur Blueway - $50,000
The Huntsville to Decatur Blueway creates a 27-mile water recreation system from Ditto Landing to Point Mallard Park with midway access at Talucah and Triana, plus Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge exploration opportunities. This project constructs new kayak launches at both endpoints, establishes safety protocols for commercial navigation, and develops tourism infrastructure. The Blueway will serve 2,500+ annual users while generating economic impact through sustainable outdoor recreation.
Creative Launchpad's Creative Schools Initiative - $25,000
The Creative Schools Initiative expands arts education in Title I schools through Arts on the Move, placing dance and theatre teaching artists in PE classes using standards-aligned curricula. The program also includes teacher training in creative learning strategies, in-school Creative Teaching facilitators, and subsidized arts-based field trips. This holistic, collective impact effort will expand equitable, quality arts learning at sixteen area elementary schools.
