CANVAS Deepens Community Impact with Giving Fund

[HUNTSVILLE, AL] – Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can – that’s the mission for Be The Good, Canvas’ brand new employee giving fund launched in early 2019.

“We have always had a sense of responsibly to give back to our communities. It’s what Canvas is built on,” states Canvas CEO Jami Peyton. “Our employees asked for the opportunity to give back, and this fund allows them to do just that.”

Canvas’ overall community outreach efforts include Be The Good and the Keeping Canvas Cool Committee, or KC3 for short. Be The Good allows nonprofits to request funding for specific program needs that focus on women, children, veterans or education. In addition, employees are given the opportunity to vote on the funding requests Canvas receives. On the other hand,  KC3 focuses on corporate sponsorship requests, volunteer efforts, and community projects like the recent 0.5k event that raised $20,000 to benefit a local Gold Star Family.

“We started the employee giving fund because we wanted to make a deeper impact with the nonprofits in the communities where Canvas employees live. This fund is about going beyond an event sponsorship and working toward building deeper relationships,” explains Erin Bloxham Curtis, the 2019 Chair of Be The Good. “Outside of what the fund can do for our community, it’s incredibly exciting that over fifty percent of our employees are participating the first year. I think this speaks volumes about the culture of our company.”

Applications for Be The Good are accepted all year long, but funding is only granted in two cycles – June (Application Deadline is May 1) and December (Application Deadline is November 1). All 501c3 organizations are invited to apply. Funding requests must support programs for women, children, veterans or education.  For more information email to request an application package, or download the information at
