HUNTSVILLE, Alabama, August 5, 2019 – The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Thompson as interim Chief Executive Officer and President of the Community Foundation effective immediately. Thompson joined the Community Foundation in 2011, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer. Chris Russell, Chair of the Community Foundation Board, says of Thompson’s appointment, “Melissa Thompson’s passion for this community has been and will continue to be a great benefit to our region and the Foundation. I look forward to seeing the impact her leadership will have to our organization, the local nonprofit network, and to donors and residents of our community.”
The Community Foundation will soon be celebrating its tenth anniversary serving the Greater Huntsville region with its vision to improve quality of life through philanthropy.
