Jay and Hilde Dryden Named Recipients of the 2026 Community Philanthropy Award
HUNTSVILLE, AL (July 7, 2026) — The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville is pleased to announce that Jay and Hilde Dryden have been selected as the recipients of its 2026 Community Philanthropy Award, recognizing their extraordinary commitment to generosity and community impact.
The Community Philanthropy Award honors individuals whose lives have strengthened our community through the power and purpose of generosity.
For Jay and Hilde, generosity is not a separate activity; rather, it is a way of life. Guided by their faith, they view life through a stewardship lens, and they view every opportunity as a chance to make a difference. Their generosity shows up in many different ways, including charitable giving, impact investing, financial support for students, mentorship opportunities, capacity-building efforts, and philanthropy activities with their own children. Jay and Hilde consistently seek ways to create lasting impact.
Their approach reflects a belief that generosity can be a force multiplier. Throughout their lives, Jay and Hilde have invested not only in charitable causes, but also in people and institutions that expand the capacity of others to do good in the world. They understand that strengthening organizations, developing future leaders, and encouraging others to embrace generosity can create benefits that extend far beyond any single contribution.
As Managing Partner of Vector Wealth Strategies, Jay has helped shape a culture that encourages clients to think intentionally about generosity, legacy, and the values they hope to pass to future generations. Through those relationships, he has helped numerous families across the region connect their resources with their purpose and helped them discover the joy of investing in causes that matter to them and their communities. That same culture has also created opportunities for students and young professionals to develop their talents, gain valuable experience, and pursue lives of purpose and service.
The Drydens have also demonstrated a deep commitment to investing in the next generation. Through their scholarships, mentorship, and years of service, Jay and Hilde have sought to create opportunities for others to grow in faith, develop their gifts, and make a lasting difference in their communities. Their commitment includes significant support for Freed-Hardeman University and Western Kentucky Youth Camp, where they have invested both financially and personally in developing future generations.

The Community Philanthropy Award will be presented at the Community Foundation’s annual Summit on Philanthropy on October 13, 2026.
